I have no way of thanking you folks "out there" for the quality, depth, knowledge, humor, and love for the music I've seen here in the Forum. It's the faith and devotion of absolute fanatics that keeps ANY music alive. Forget the record companies and the music critics - Bach, Beethoven, Mahler, Caruso, Furtwangler, Sinatra, Gulda, The Dead; it's always the nonchalant lunatics who keep passing the music on. THANK you!

I'm an outsider, even though I've been living in San Francico since 1980. I never went to a Dead concert but you know what? Just knowing I was in their town, that Haight Street is a ten-minute bus ride from my house always made me think, "Yeah - this town is the best."

Yep--it is really cool to go there...I also like going to GGPark, and revisiting Lindley Meadows (75 show I saw there)...and the Zoo where they took those early era shots of the boys in B&W around a very old, black train engine (played on that many times as a kid).

Haven't lived in the BArea for 30 yrs now, but still love seeing, visiting SF!

The City.

[and as you note, the info density around here these days is amazing! thanks largely to LiA, Monte, ARb, Tiger and the others that really contribute something over an above the kind of baseline drivel that's all I am good for!]
